Here are links to my first three published articles and some info on my process.
Audiences Response to Ads and the Coronavirus - https://www.hollywoodinsider.com/ads-coronavirus-related/
My first published piece. I don't choose the titles for my pieces, so I will tend to not prefer them. That said, I am happy with how this piece turned out. I read a piece in the Hollywood Reporter about how advertisers were trying to avoid FYC ads because audiences are fragile. I strongly disagree with that approach in this piece. It took me back to my college days, learning about audience centric mass media approaches. Shout out to Jack Powers, an old professor whose words stuck with me.
Facebook and Racism -
https://www.hollywoodinsider.com/facebook-problematic-politics/
While I did not choose the title for this piece, I am happy with the way it turned out. I really wanted to talk about why Facebook can be a turning point for racism. I think the audience for Facebook would like to say damaging things without conflict. It's really important we don't let racists say damaging things or else we normalize it.
Sports Players and COVID-19 - https://www.hollywoodinsider.com/mlb-sports-covid-19-athletes/
I mainly wanted to focus on the narrative behind a choice. Even with a more harmless sport like baseball, the health risks of COVID-19 are undeniable.
